...HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY 
MORNING... 
 
.THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE SANDY WILL MOVE NORTH THROUGH THE 
WESTERN ATLANTIC TODAY AND THEN TURN WEST TOWARD THE MID ATLANTIC 
COAST ON MONDAY. STRONG WINDS WILL AFFECT MUCH OF NEW ENGLAND 
WELL AWAY FROM THE STORM CENTER AS THE PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL BE 
STRONG BETWEEN THE DEEP LOW TO THE SOUTH AND THE STRONG HIGH TO 
THE NORTH. NORTHEAST WINDS OF 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 60 MPH 
WILL BE POSSIBLE MONDAY INTO MONDAY NIGHT. THE STRONGEST WINDS 
WILL BE ALONG THE COAST AND IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH. 
 
* TIMING...MONDAY AFTERNOON INTO TUESDAY MORNING. 
 
* IMPACTS...STRONG WINDS MAY DOWN TREES AS WELL AS POWER LINES 
CAUSING POWER OUTAGES.

A HIGH WIND WATCH MEANS THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A HAZARDOUS WIND EVENT. SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH...OR GUSTS OF 58 MPH OR STRONGER MAY OCCUR. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.
